Russell joins the SVC organization with 25 years experience as a music educator and choral conductor. Having taught general music and directed choruses at elementary and middle school levels, he now serves as Director of Secondary Choral Music and Theater at Milton High School as is the Coordinator of Music Ministries at St. Andrew’s United Methodist Church in Milton.
A graduate of Susquehanna University, he has served as the President of PA Music Educators District 8, and was founder and director of the Milton Area Community Theater and the Milton Area Community Choir. He has served as adjunct faculty at Lycoming College and has performed vocally with valley ensembles. Russ is excited about this opportunity to lead the SVYC which he views as one of the premier singing groups in the area. We welcome his energy, enthusiasm, and musicianship.
Coleen Renshaw, Accompanist
Coleen Renshaw earned a degree in music education from Susquehanna University and continued graduate studies in vocal performance at Penn State University. She taught general music and directed choirs, plays, and musicals in the Midd-West School District. Coleen has actively served the Susquehanna Valley Chorale as rehearsal accompanist and orchestra manager. She performs frequently as a soprano soloist and as a member of the orchestra. Besides serving officially as the accompanist to the Susquehanna Valley Youth Chorale, she provides much appreciated volunteer organizational assistance to the group. Mrs. Renshaw is in demand as a piano accompanist for recitals and concerts and serves as a church organist for Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Middleburg. She also maintains a private voice studio.
